The Cutest 23rd Psalm!

I experienced an epiphany driving through Nebraska last weekend.  After a Friday night concert in Broken Bow, NE, the next morning we were facing a four hour drive back to Omaha.  The clouds were low and threatening rain but it held.  The gray skies, my tired body, hundreds of train cars loaded with coal, acres and acres of farmland, and a sign here and there of population less than 100 put me in a sort of melancholy mood.  Even though I travel with my husband and best friend, Rod, (more…)

Hebrews chapters 6-8 use the term “better” or “more excellent” at least six times in discussing how much better the New Covenant with Jesus Christ is than the Old Covenant of the Law.  With all of its sacrifices, bulls, goats, lambs, grain, turtle doves, the Law could never make someone new or born again.  Jesus Christ, the perfect and final sacrifice, is the BETTER way that God provided for those who believe in His name.
