I love her heart, I love her passion and I love her music. Every time I work with her, I am convicted that I am in the presence of one who loves Jesus most of all. I enjoy her…I love her…if you meet her, you will too!

What do you do when you go somewhere that is so full of people who love the Lord and want to see His Kingdom come? Honestly, I felt a little like Peter did when he saw our Savior with Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration. It was so glorious that Peter asked if he could build three shelters. Luke 9:33 says, “As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters – one for you, one for Moses (more…)

Dámaris taught on “The Well-Dressed Woman” for Blessed Hope at LeTourneau Christian Center on beautiful Canandaigua Lake in upstate New York over the weekend of 5/15-17/09. Her theme was Colossians 3:12-17. To accentuate the theme, they used fancy shoes to decorate the tables. To find your small groups, you matched the shoe patterns on your nametags. Mine was a man’s shoe, so I guess I wasn’t invited to the group discussions!

How to study the Bible…
04/10/09
Have you ever felt like you just don’t know where to start? Recently I was blessed with a little book by John MacArthur that has whet my appetite anew for God’s Word. It’s called, “How To Study the Bible.” Don’t you just love that clever title? I’m kidding. What I’m most grateful for is how clearly MacArthur makes his points. It’s small and non-intimidating and yet a great guide for anyone who is serious about getting to know God’s Word. The book is published by Moody Publishers, Chicago, IL. I’m glad I have this small (in size only) yet great resource. Get a copy soon; you won’t regret it.

Looking to hear from God? Here’s an insightful quote from Susan D. Hill from the book “Closer Than Your Skin.”
“The more you know the Bible, the more vocabulary God has to work with.”

Here is the passion of my heart… the gospel.
I sing gospel music, not because it’s my favorite style of music because actually, it’s not, but because I believe in the gospel.
The gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins. He shed His precious blood so that we could be set free from that which has enslaved us, sin. Paul identifies a list of sins, not an exhaustive one either, but nevertheless a list: sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy ones, drunkards, slanderers, swindlers… but here me out now, when he’s done with that list he says something that is amazing! Okay, have you read this book? No?! Then you must order it right now. It is published by Discovery House Publishers Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Honestly, it’s all in the title. Can there be anything more glorious than to give ourselves completely to God?
Maybe some of you have been with people who are very “spiritual” and you might not dare say it but they just strike you sort of weird. Oswald Chambers was (more…)
