There are many of the Psalms that are a source of encouragement for me whenever I feel broken-hearted, sad, and alone, they remind me of God's amazing love for me. I think we forget how much He loves us and wants to mend our hurts (and only He can), perhaps we just need to be reminded. One of my favorite verses is Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in times of trouble". Jesus Christ is my very best friend, He is always there when I need Him, He catches me whenever I stumble, He picks me up when I am down, He dries my tears, and promises never to leave me. What more can you ask of a friend than that? As fellow believers, it is true, we should be lifting each other up in prayer. In prayer we draw on His power and strength to help us through each day. Thank you Jesus that you hear us when we cry!

Oh, but if all broken hearts would answer this call. Too many of us want to blame God when things get dark; even want to flee or ignore God and His love, forget what was done on the cross; give ourselves over to helplessness, hopelessness, and...sin. How is it, after being saved and cleansed, that we too often give ourselves back to "the dark side" when life hurts?
We really need to hold each other up in prayer - uh, as a lifestyle!
