Palabra De Vida – Argentina
06/24/2009
What do you do when you go somewhere that is so full of people who love the Lord and want to see His Kingdom come? Honestly, I felt a little like Peter did when he saw our Savior with Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration. It was so glorious that Peter asked if he could build three shelters. Luke 9:33 says, “As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters – one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.) I love that parenthesis in the NIV! Sometimes we really don’t know what we’re saying nor do we know what to say. So for someone who loves to talk, after this trip to South America, I’m speechless. I do know that if the Lord called Rod and me today to go and labor there we’d pack up immediately.
Palabra De Vida is the ministry of Word Of Life, Schroon Lake, NY, which started over 50 years ago through the leadership of the late Jack Wyrtzen. The Bible Institute in Argentina has students from over 33 nations. I was invited to sing for a Saturday evening concert at the brand new state-of-the-art auditorium which seats nearly 1500. The auditorium was named after a precious man of God and his wife, Andy & Joan Horner, who have been great supporters of Word Of Life. After I sang, Joe Jordan, president of Word of Life, preached an evangelistic message and over 100 souls came forward to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior! What a glorious evening.
Later on I heard about some of those who responded to the invitation and it just made my heart leap. One man who was a metal worker that had done work 38 years ago on the premises of Palabra De Vida, and had been witnessed to finally surrendered at the age of 70! A precious couple that are missionaries there, Dr. Javier and his wife, Laura Tapia, invited a a friend and colleague and she received the Lord, too. A couple who are both educators came to the concert and when the invitation was made they looked at each other and said, “We need to do this.” Eternity alone will tell all the wonderful stories of the saving grace that reached so many that evening.
Do you really want to know what this did for me? It reminded once again that Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost. That’s all I want to live for. To see the lost come to Christ. I just want to love the Lord with all of my heart, mind, soul, and strength and to obey Him and tell whoever will let me that Christ is truly the answer.
Here are some snaps that Rod took. Hope they give you a glimpse into our indescribable trip…

Hi Damaris,
I`m really happy today! Happy because our God is a Gos of grace! A wonderful grace!
I`m writing from Brazil. Recently, a famous brazilian pop singer completed his 50th anniversary of his musical career. It was noticed on TV here, a great “party” of shows around the country! And I believe you know him: Roberto Carlos. Once you recorded a song of his composition, Once Again. It rocked my teenage years, on 80′s. And because of all this singer celebration I tried to find this song to download. So I’ve got to your name. And searching more about you, I had the happiest and exciting experience of my latest days: you are my sister in God!! More than I have found the song you sung on those days, my heart is filled with genuine joy, because the Spirit of God is amazing and let us in awe when we discover He works in despite of us. On a day, a determined one, you’ve heard our sheperd’s voice and recognized it as your Lord’s one! Blessed are you, servant of God, now singing to the Glory of God, the Only One! I wish Roberto Carlos could do that all saints do, but I’m afraid he is wrapped by Catholicism and Spiritism clothes. Let’s pray about him for he find grace, the real one that let us safe from the enemy of our souls!
Once again (and forever this time…), may the Lord keep you and guard you! May your work be fruitfull and His Holy Ghost give you peace!
Sincerely,
Valéria Bianconi

Hi Damaris,
I’m so glad for you and Rod that you got to go Argentina, what a wonderful story you have from your experience there, and to hear of so many people who came to Christ that day! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord for His work through so many people, too, including you and Rod.
I too want to see His Kingdom come, to love Him with everything that is in me, to be obedient and serve Him however way He wants me to. I’m so glad for opportunities I’ve had to talk with folks about Christ (like you said, anyone who will listen). I am on my knees daily for all of the lost to be saved, that people will see their need for Jesus Christ and seek Him. The Lord has changed my heart, and my life, and I want for Him to do the same with others.
My prayers continue for you and Rod, Damaris. May He continue to blessing you and your ministry until Christ returns!
With Love in Christ,
Regina
