Of all the Christian musicians I know in the world, none ministers more from the heart and clearly led by the spirit of God than Damaris Carbaugh. Her choice of songs is not only scripturally correct but spiritually convicting and really touches the heart. Her life and testimony are an example of what God can do with a person wholly committed to Him. — Joe Jordan, Executive Director, Word of Life Fellowship, Inc.

Our Constant

08/29/2009

Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”  What a glorious truth!

We, on the other hand, are not constant.  For us, change, is the only thing that is constant.  Our bodies change, our minds change, our children change, our addresses change, our careers change… everything changes!!!  And because we are that way we need faith to truly grasp the fact that our God never changes.  Ah, but when you have a moment, like I had yesterday morning, feeling as though my world was tumbling too fast, and realize that He isn’t moved or thrown off by anything, you suddenly understand that He truly is our great Shepherd and we can rest in His care.

Are you a little out of it?  Don’t quite know why?  You haven’t really done anything wrong and yet you feel a bit lost.  Welcome to the club.  That’s just how we are.  But our God is Holy… Holy… Holy… and did you know that the word “holy” really means unlike anything or anyone else?  No matter how you feel right now it doesn’t change our Lord.

He is our God.  He is our constant.  And I’m so glad He cares for us like no other and that will never change.  Hallelujah!

  1. A lot of times in our lives, it seems as though everything is not only tumbling around us, but may seem so out of control, chaotic even. But our Lord is always the same, He is in complete control of everything, and we can always lean on Him, trust in Him alone, and have total peace in Him. I’m so thankful for Him for His constant, unconditional love and care for us amidst of chaos. God bless you Damaris, thanks for sharing once again. I love reading about your thoughts here. May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to give you His total peace as you lean on Him and serve Him with all of your heart, mind, and soul.
