New Year’s Day 2009
01/02/2009
Happy New Year! This has been a sweet Christmas time with our family, our extended family, and more food than anyone should eat!! It has been an especially happy time because we have both of our children with us.
We had a sweet watchnight service at our church, Manhattan Grace Tabernacle, where we were reminded of God’s faithfulness, and encouraged to press on through 2009, regardless of what we may face. Christ is still on his throne, and has promised us all of the grace that we need. After the service we had a time of fellowship with folks, then went out for a late meal. Our kids, Ashley and James, had their own plans after our service, so they went separate ways.
On New Year’s Day we all slept in and had a really relaxed, family day. We played some Scrabble and a card game, then the four of us piled into the car to go into downtown New York City! Dámaris especially wanted to go see the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center. It was plenty cold, in the 2o’s, but we found parking, walked around, took a couple of photos, and then got back into the car to find dinner. Great Chinese food at Ollie’s, then back home. Sweet time. Here are some pix:

It’s great to ‘get a feel’ for your life ‘back there.’ Those of us out west can’t imagine life near New York City! My niece is based out out Newark, NJ- maybe someday we’ll get to visit! For us- We can’t imagine New Year’s Day without watching the Rose Parade on TV. We hope to attend in person this coming one.. We DID live in Pasadena,CA at one time so we know how awesome the floats are up close! Our LORD has no limit to his creative imagination as shown in the floral/gardening world! Blessings to all reading this!

Happy New Year to the Carbaugh family! Sweet photos of you all, too, thanks for sharing them. God has blessed you richly, and I pray that He will continue to do so, and fill you with His wonderful love and peace and good health throughout 2009 and beyond. Our God is an awesome God, and He is faithful to see us all through whatever life may throw our way. Hallelujah!
Love,
Regina
