Know Someone Disappointed with God?
07/09/2010
Has a sudden change in your life caused you to doubt God’s watchfulness over you? We live in a fallen world. Disappointments and trials will come. Jesus Christ promised that. To him that overcomes by faith, though, God has promised eternal life. …for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:4-5 TNIV

Isn’t that what faith is about: trusting that God is loving when He doesn’t seem loving? Trusting that God is good when all you experience is evil? Trusting that God is in control when it seems all the world is falling apart? This seems to me to be the essence of the book of Job. I’m finding that in spite of the lack of emotionally unsatisfying answers to suffering, Job is an excellent book in that it builds my faith in God who is beyond my understanding. When bad things happen, my view of God may become skewed. However, I will continue to trust Him anyway, because even though I don’t see the whole picture, I’ve seen Him enough to know He is all He says He is.
