Is that a funny name for a town or what? Actually it seemed to have been quite appropriate since I was here speaking at a women’s conference and my topic was the 23rd Psalm. I can’t tell you how much that psalm continues to speak to me.
Take the last verse, for instance. It says, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me…” This is David speaking, the one who, in disobedience, counted his army. The punishment that he chose caused the death of 70,000 Israelites. God cannot leave sin unpunished and it is His goodness that must deal justly with sin.
Ah, but David also sees that the mercy of God follows him, too. The punishment I deserved fell on Jesus and mercy has triumphed over judgment. Goodness and mercy keeps on following me… what’s following you?

Damarius: You were awesome today! Your message today on the 23rd Psalm spoke directly to my heart. I am a 55 year old woman dealing with a 14 year old daughter that is out of control. I felt like you were speaking directly to me especially when you were talking about walking in the valley of the shadow of death because most days I just want to go to bed and pull the covers over my head and beg Jesus to take me home. NOT….. Because as we know we must go on…. I ordered the book by Phillip Keller that you mentioned and will attempt to go deeper on this wonderful scripture.
May God continue to bless you and Rod in your ministry…
