I’ve always been deeply blessed by the ministry of Damaris Carbaugh, not just by the words she sings but by how deeply she feels them! Her music always points us beyond ourselves to Christ, who is the focus of her life and ministry. Let her bless you with her songs of inspiration and hope! — Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Moody Church, Chicago

Months ago Dámaris was contacted to sing at a pastors’ wives’ brunch sponsored by a Philadelphia Christian radio station, WFIL.  The speaker was to be Jill Briscoe.  We jumped at the opportunity to hear Jill again, and confirmed right away.  The event was scheduled for October 20th, yesterday.

Last Thursday, we got a call from our dear friend, Sara Dormon, who told us that Jill was stuck in New Zealand with her husband, Stewart, who had fallen ill and was not well enough to travel back to the states just yet.  ”Would you consider speaking to the pastors’ wives as well as singing?” No pressure, of course!  Jill Briscoe is one of our favorite speakers of all time.  Godly, powerful, wise, and with that refined British accent, she could say, “Drop dead!” and you would feel privileged!

Well, Dámaris agreed to speak.  No one can fill Jill Briscoe’s shoes, of course, and although Dámaris has never been a pastor’s wife, the Lord arranged it so that she could stand in the gap and bring a message of encouragement to 100 of them who came to hear someone else.

Click on “more…” below to hear Dámaris’s message.  We pray that you will be encouraged!

At the beginning of the brunch yesterday, Jill texted that she had just arrived at O’Hare from Auckland, New Zealand with Stewart, and they were on their way home.  The doctors had “eventually nailed the pesky bug,” and he was well enough to travel home.

  1. Thanks for sharing on the spur of the moment and also for sharing the message on your website. I’m always blessed by your love for Jesus Christ and challenged by your testimony that we need to love Him with our whole hearts. It’s true — knowing all the right things doesn’t matter if we don’t realize that He’s worthy of our whole lives. Praying God’s blessing on your ministry.
