I love her heart, I love her passion and I love her music. Every time I work with her, I am convicted that I am in the presence of one who loves Jesus most of all. I enjoy her…I love her…if you meet her, you will too!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus
12/29/2009
There are a lot of things that I don’t finish on time. For some years now, however, my Bible, His holy manuscript, the inerrant, inspired, awesome Word of God, is not one of those things. Dámaris and I have made it our goal to read through the Bible every year, and I finished Isaiah and Revelation today.
Do I understand it all? Of course not. That is why we sit under good teaching and read other books from those who have walked this path of faith before us. There are those who feel that reading through the Bible is not as beneficial as studying portions of it thoroughly. They have a good point, certainly. I know people that have memorized vast portions of Scripture. I have not done that… yet. But it gives me great comfort to know that there is not a section of God’s Word that I have not read several times, and that every year I am more familiar with it.
We all “know in part,” and should be ever learning more about this God whom we serve, Jesus Christ who died for our sins, and the Holy Spirit who dwells in us to convict us of sin and draws us to the Throne of God. It has been said that the Bible will keep you from sin, and sin will keep you from the Bible. I need the discipline of a reading plan so that I don’t go days without reading what God is trying to say to me.
Our road is narrow, difficult at times, and although it is the only way of peace and joy, it is too easily turned away from. Wide and very luring is the way that leads to destruction. That is the path that most are on. Don’t follow them, follow Christ. Follow God’s Word, the lamp for our feet, the light for our path (Ps 119:105). He’s coming back for His bride, spotless. Choose to be holy, even as He is holy. Choose to be above reproach. Lord, make us like You!
Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

AMEN! I too learn more each time I read God’s Word, over and over. He is my guiding light, my strength, my Wonderful Counselor, my Redeemer, and the best friend I’ve ever had. His Word is The Owner’s Manual full of specific instructions for our lives so that we can be victorious. What an awesome God we have who loves us, full of grace and mercy. Let us keep on praying for and encouraging one another. Happy New Year to the Carbaugh family!
